December 5, 2007 Trinity Hip-Hop News 4 Comments

Greetings from Trinity College!

We would like to announce that, back by popular demand the Third Annual Trinity International Hip Hop Festival will be held on April 4th-6th 2008. The Trinity Festival is the first and largest International Hip Hop Festival hosted by a college campus in the country. In the past two year’s we have brought well renowned Hip Hoppers such as Jeff Chang (author of Can’t Stop Won’t Stop), Byron Hurt (director of Hip Hop Beyond Beats & Rhymes), Charlie Ahern (director of Wild style) along with Pioneers like Tony Tone of The Cold Crush Brothers, Dj Disco Wiz, Pop Master Fable of the famous Rock Steady Crew and Fab 5 Freddy. Not to mention artists like The African Underground All-stars, La Bruja (Puerto Rico), Baba Israel (Australia), French R&B super group Les Nubians, Bocafloja (Mexico) Eternia (Canada), Narcy (Iraq). Las Mujeres (Cuba), Rebel Diaz (Chile/Puerto Rico), Eli Efi (Brazil). KG & The Band (Kenya), Gabriel Teodros (Ethiopia), Foundation Movement (Liberia/Puerto Rico) who represent the global impact of Hip Hop culture.

This year we intend to take the event to bigger heights by bringing more artists from their country of origin and by including more profound and intellectually stimulating lecture panels, films and workshops. There will be a B-boy battle with a cash prize of $500, graffiti murals by Trinity Festival alumnus Trust Your Struggle and other special guests.

To all of our fellow Activists, Artists, Organizers, Entrepreneurs and Hip Hoppers around the world, if you are interested in being involved in this year’s event please contact Zee Santiago (Chief Executive Organizer) and/or Jason Azevedo (Chief Executive Organizer & Founder) for more information.
