Chachi (Cape Verde)


Chachi is a veteran emcee who was born and raised in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. A first generation Cape Verdean American who comes from a family of musicians and singers, he has been actively involved in the world of music entertainment for over a decade. He is a man of many talents and has assumed many roles, such as emcee, promoter, deejay, ghost writer and now owner and sole proprietor of an independent entertainment company called Big East Music Entertainment. For the past two years Chachi has been a household name around the Providence music scene. He has graced stages throughout New England, opening for artists such as Talib Kweli, Ghostface, Jurrasic 5, Ras Kass, the Movement CV, Kool Keith, Clipse and Lupe Fiasco just to name a few. Chachi is also a successful event promoter in Providence, RI, responsible for some of the most positive hip hop events in the area providing a stage for well over 300 artists of all ages and genres.

Founded in the spring of 2006, the Trinity International Hip Hop Festival was created to combat the disunity, segregation, and violence of Hartford, CT and Trinity College. Using the historically education-oriented and politically revolutionary medium—Hip Hop– and focusing on its global potency and proliferation, the Trinity International Hip Hop Festival works to unify Trinity College, the city of Hartford, and the Globe.
