Bio: Samm Farai Monro, better known as Comrade Fatso, is one of the most
popular and controversial poets in the Zimbabwe arts scene. Cde Fatso
calls his poetry Toyi Toyi Poetry, radical street poetry that mixes
Shona with English and mbira with hip hop. Its an art form that is an
uprising against the bloody ZANU (PF) regime.

2008 has seen Comrade Fatso and his band Chabvondoka launch their
much-acclaimed album, House of Hunger, banned in Zimbabwe but labelled
by Agence France Presse as “the most revolutionary album since Thomas
Mapfumo’s music in the 1970’s.” Fatso and Chabvondoka have performed
extensively, having been invited to perform their riotous music at
festivals in France, the UK, Holland, Kenya, Reunion, Botswana, Malawi,
Swaziland and South Africa. Fatso’s poetry and music have appeared in
print and broadcast media in over fifty countries around the world.

Not one to be confined, Fatso is also a political activist having
founded MAGAMBA!, a cultural activist network that uses arts and culture
in the struggle for justice in Zimbabwe. At the same time, he is a
grassroots blogger whose blogs during the recent General Elections in
Zimbabwe were warmly received by a global audience with his daily
reports being used by CNN, BBC World Service and France 24.

Outspoken is an underground emcee and spoken-word artist from zimbabwe.one half of the hip-hop duo dialectric blue with rhyme partner upmost a.k.a my bruthaz keepa.known as outspoken alpha intellect(pronounced eye-ntellect) he is an activist in social movements advocating for the empowerment of the masses.also as the front runner to his band – outspoken and the essence,he busts socially relevant issues in a positive-projected mind state.outspoken is a projects facilitator for MAGAMBA!THE CULTURAL ACTIVIST NETWORK,an organization realised to fight social and political injustice through the avenues provided in spoken-word events they organize. he has held skillz sharing workshops in schools as well as being a mentor for the british council program: POWER IN THE VOICE as the hip-hop mentor for HARARE.he has performed at close to all zimbabwean international arts festivals and has started his regional campaign with a performance in joburg south afrika @ the BASSLINE,dubbed MAKE SOME NOISE!A CAMPAIGN FOR FREEDOM IN ZIMBABWE.Outspoken has done a month long South Afrikkan tour; from The Darlin Festival in cape town, Highway Africa in Grahamstown,Arts alive in Joburg to SPEAK THE MIND in Cape town, blessing venues such as ARTSCAPE, HOUSE OF NSAKO, THE BASSLINE, CAPELLOS to name a few. He has touched base with the Power In the Voice festival in Botswana.He has shared stages with greats such as Pops Mohammed, Kwani Experiance, Likwid Flo, Tamika Harper(Georgia me), Imani Woomera, Comrade Fatso and Chabvondoka, Cajus, Bianca Williams, Kabomo,Soul Dada, just to name a few!LETS GET FREE!
